The problem
Great films are getting buried.
An independent filmmaker in 2026 has a paradox on their hands. They can shoot on a phone that would embarrass a 2005 Panavision, cut on software their laptop came with, and reach an audience through a dozen streaming services that didn't exist a decade ago. And yet, most indie films still don't find the people who'd love them.
The big streamers optimize for retention, not discovery. Aggregators take their slice, sometimes 40% or more, before the money touches a filmmaker's account. Payouts land quarterly, or later. Rights get tangled. And the algorithm decides who gets seen.
What we're building
A platform that puts filmmakers first.
FilmCloud.tv is a streaming service for independent film. Most films are free to watch. No account, no paywall, no gate. When you make an account, we add the useful stuff: save favorites, pick up where you left off, follow filmmakers whose work you love.
Under the hood, we're rebuilding the money side of distribution: transparent splits, faster payouts, and no exclusive licenses. If you make a film here, you know exactly what it's earning and when, and you can keep distributing everywhere else you like.

How we started
Built by an indie filmmaker, for indie filmmakers.
FilmCloud.tv was founded in 2026 by Nick Swezey, an actor and filmmaker who kept running into the same wall as everyone else making independent film. Great work getting buried. Money that took forever to arrive, when it arrived at all. Aggregators taking their slice long before the filmmaker saw a dollar.
So he started building the platform he wished existed. One that pays fairly, pays fast, and doesn't demand exclusivity in exchange. We're launching publicly in Summer 2026.
